Local 21 members working for the City of San Francisco made the difficult choice during the Great Recession to help the City they work for and love. They agreed to wage cuts and freezes to balance the City budget.
As a result, their salaries have fallen more than 11% behind the cost of living over the last 10 years.
These Local 21 members represent more than 4,000 city employees who are helping to build a beautiful and more vibrant San Francisco.
They are passionate and committed to the work they do for a City they love. Each of them has irreplaceable knowledge, training and experience. These individuals, along with all of the other Local 21 members, help to make up the fabric of the community.
